REFLECTION
I had never used a flash added to my camera before. I had only ever used the built-in flash when shooting for fill flash. I enjoyed using the equipment and experimenting with the right composition for these photos. It took me a minute to work the flash on top, but after a while, I got the hang of it. Inside, the fluorescent lights really affected the composition of the picture, unlike the photos outside. We started in a hallway, but realized we were too close to the walls, so it was bouncing off both sides of us when shooting, making the normal bounce flash effect not work. We moved to a more open hallway and figured out that this worked way better to light up one side of our face. When we went outside to do the extreme flash, it took a little bit to get the correct lighting. I didn’t realize how much power I would have to use to light up Justin. Plus, due to the darkness outside, the outdoor photos turned out much better. It makes for a more vibrant picture, making Justin stand out more in the frame. I enjoyed playing with the extreme bounce flash more than the normal bounce flash because of how the images turned out and because of how vibrant the flash was outside. Plus, we try to do some with motion and get some motion blur with Justin, and freeze one part of him with the extreme flash. To my surprise, the light bounced off objects very well, and I never knew something like this was possible. All in all, I had never used a flash-up until yesterday. After my experience, I would rate it a 10/10 and would totally try to play with bounce flash more because of the cool effects you can get.
